While Mary Alice has delved into many artistic pursuits including pottery, painting, and sewing, she also enjoys sculpting with rusted metal for outdoor displays. She designed a baobab tree—the Tree of Life in Africa—and had a local welder cut the metal and help her form the shape. She topped the tree with empty wine bottles, one of her favorite materials to use throughout the garden.
