To Grandmother’s House We Go

Country Sampler - Christmas Decorating - - INSIDE - DESIGNED BY MARY CARR.

Create a little vignette of traveling over the river and through the woods for a delightful centerpiece for your table. Cut or purchase two birch logs and place them next to each other just slightly apart. Run a bead of strong glue between the logs and tie them together with a couple lengths of twine wrapped around the logs. Choose a clear jar with a wide mouth and insert faux snow, a little toy truck and some miniature trees into the jar. It can be tricky to get the pieces to sit upright, so you may want to add a couple dabs of glue to the truck and trees first, set them in place and then add the faux snow. Glue a larger tree onto one of the logs. Finally, paint the jar lid and wrap and glue lengths of twine around the edge.
