KEEPING IT SIMPLE
Vanessa Hunt’s prerequisites for seasonal decorating are as simple as her decor.
1. MAKE LIFE EASIER Vanessa always asks herself, “How much work have I created for myself on the other end?” The simpler the decor, she says, the faster it can be put up and taken down.
2. QUICK TOUCHES Make use of existing decor by adding small seasonal touches. Embellish a favorite piece of statuary, such as Vanessa’s Wayfair horse, with a beribboned wreath that disappears come spring.
3. NO-FUSS TABLE DECOR Don’t overload your dining table with fussy, immovable decorations. A pretty cluster of paperwhites in an antique soup tureen and candles trimmed in eucalyptus leave room for a sitdown family meal.
