ABOVE: Kim installed a pair of traditional barn doors on either side of the cottage’s front entrance. They are hung from two galvanized barn-door trolley tracks that she purchased from a local feed and grain shop for less than $100 each. LEFT: A found table was left “as is” to add to the porch’s casual mood. BELOW LEFT: A tree stump donated by a local landscaper provides a spot to park towels and other shower essentials. BELOW: The drapes that encircle the open back porch provide privacy for the outdoor shower. OPPOSITE: The wide back porch adds extra living space to Kim’s small cottage. Inexpensive cotton drapes from Ikea create an intimate atmosphere and provide much-needed shade from the hot sun.
