Country Sampler's Upstyled Home - - HOMES & PROJECTS -

Diane Good is a master at culling country items from the flea market and styling them to a most desirable designer effect. A few of her tips and tricks include being inventive, combining found objects, and recasting utilitarian items in fresh new ways. Look for just a few of these treasures when out collecting and create some of your own upstyled accessories.

If an urn doesn’t have an old paint finish, then do it yourself. Combine two parts water and one part acrylic paint and brush on your own sheer color paint wash. Combine wood and metal items like this mid-century metal table base with an old oak top to create a modern rustic sensibility.

Group a collection like these old wicker- wrapped wine bottles and flasks. Fill a cupboard or side table tray.

An old cog and round mirror can be joined with epoxy to make your own version of Diane’s dining room mirrors.

Handbags, backpacks and totes all in woven straw will look great massed together just like Diane shows off at her side door entry.
