CASEY DEVINE IS A COLLECTOR.
She finds something everywhere she goes, and those finds might end up in her home or outside in her garden. “I love to repurpose early American items much in the same way Colonists did,” Casey says. “I’ll perch an old apple ladder against a tree or place an old table out in a shady patch. Lanterns and pedestals dot my garden, and I use and reuse all kinds of items as planters and window boxes. I like my garden to have lots of interest and natural appeal.”
Casey creates clustered seating areas all over her yard around trees and buildings so there is always a place to sit, enjoy the flowers and smell the fragrance of herbs and summer air. “Shade-loving plants make the trees feel like they have sprung from the garden,” she says.
