FOR A DISPLAY THAT REALLY GOES TO GREAT LENGTHS, SET OFF YOUR SNAPS IN A DIY FRAME.
Remove the backing, glass and mat from an
11x14-inch photo frame. Cut a piece of a corkboard sheet to the frame size and fit it into the frame. Using a saw, cut a piece of hardboard large enough to cover the back of the frame. Nail in place with a finish nailer. Measure and mark a 5¹₂x7¹₂-inch or 4¹₂x6¹₂-inch opening in the middle of the corkboard for the picture. Cut old rulers
or yardsticks in a variety of lengths, and fit the pieces around the opening for the photo, placing them both horizontally and vertically. Continue cutting and fitting pieces until the entire frame is covered, and glue into place using a hot glue gun.
