Pattern Notes

Cowl is worked top down. Top of cowl begins with a garter stitch tab and is worked back and forth like a triangular shawl with a center “spine”; after neck is joined, bottom of cowl is worked in the round.

Looking at the piece with the right side facing and center-front garter stitch tab at the bottom as knit, the right half is worked in garter stitch with eyelets that form diagonal lines slanting from left to right; the left half is worked in stockinette stitch with eyelets that form diagonal lines slanting from right to left. This patterning continues as established once the piece is joined and worked in the round.

Slip all markers when you come to them.
