This is the first cast-on that many knitters learn. It’s very easy to do, but the first row is a little challenging to work. It’s a handy one to use if you need to cast on stitches at the beginning or end of a row. Step 1: Pick up the working yarn with your left hand to create a loop. Step 2: Twist the loop around a half turn to the right, until it crosses over itself. Step 3: Put the loop on the needle and pull the working yarn to tighten.
