14 sts and 15 rows = 4 inches/10cm in Checker­board pat (blocked). To save time, take time to check gauge.

Us­ing MC, cast on 104 (164) sts.

Knit 9 rows and on last row, inc 20 (22) sts evenly across—124 (186) sts.

Work in Checker­board pat, chang­ing CC as in­di­cated in Color Se­quence, un­til piece reaches de­sired length or un­til all rows of a color se­quence sec­tion have been com­pleted.

With MC, knit 8 rows and on first row, dec 20 (22) sts evenly across— 104 (164) sts.

Bind off kwise.

Fin­ish­ing

Side Bor­der With RS fac­ing, pick up and knit 1 st for each garter st ridge at ends and 14 sts for ev­ery 15 rows of pat. Knit 8 rows. Bind off kwise. Rep on other side. Weave in all ends. Block to fin­ished mea­sure­ments.
