Ribbed Bor­der Cast on 44 sts. Row 1 (RS): K5, pm; k2, [p2, k2] 8 times, pm; k5. Row 2: K5; p2, [k2, p2] 8 times; k5. Rep Rows 1 and 2 un­til scarf mea­sures 7 inches, end­ing with Row 1. Body Next row (WS, dec): K5; k2­tog, knit to last 7 sts, ssk; k5—42 sts. Set-up row (RS): K5; work Bas­ket Weave pat to last 5 sts; k5.

Keep­ing 5 sts at each side in garter st, con­tinue in Bas­ket Weave pat un­til scarf mea­sures ap­prox 63 inches, end­ing with Pat Row 2 or 8. Next row (RS, inc): K5, M1R, purl to last 5 sts, M1L, k5—44 sts. Ribbed Bor­der Beg with a WS row, work as for first bor­der un­til rib mea­sures 7 inches.

Bind off in rib.
