Woman’s small (medium, large, X-large, 2X-large) In­struc­tions are given for small­est size, with larger sizes in paren­the­ses. When only 1 num­ber is given, it ap­plies to all sizes.

Gauge

16 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches/10cm in Garter Lace and Ridged Eyelet Lace pats (blocked) To save time, take time to check gauge.

Spe­cial Ab­bre­vi­a­tions

Make 1 Left (M1L): In­sert LH nee­dle from front to back un­der hor­i­zon­tal strand be­tween last st worked and next st on LH nee­dle; knit through back of re­sult­ing loop. Make 1 Right (M1R): In­sert LH nee­dle from back to front un­der hor­i­zon­tal strand be­tween last st worked and next st on LH nee­dle; knit into front of re­sult­ing loop. Slip marker (sm): Slip marker from LH to RH nee­dle.

Pat­tern Stitches

Garter Lace (mul­ti­ple of 4 sts) Row 1: K4, *yo, k2­tog, k2; rep from * to end.

Rep Row 1 for pat. Ridged Eyelet Lace (odd num­ber of sts) Row 1 (WS): Knit. Row 2: Knit. Row 3: K1, p1, *yo, p2­tog; rep from * to last st, k1. Row 4: Knit.

Rep Rows 1–4 for pat.

Pat­tern Notes

Pullover is worked in pieces and then sewn to­gether.

Block­ing is crit­i­cal to achieve the fin­ished look of the pullover. Swatch should also be blocked to en­sure proper gauge.

When shap­ing in pat­tern, do not work a yarn over with­out work­ing a cor­re­spond­ing de­crease and vice versa.

When shap­ing sleeve, work in­creases as fol­lows: K1, M1R at be­gin­ning of right-side rows and M1L, k1 at end.

Back

Cast on 81 (89, 97, 105, 113) sts.

Knit 5 rows. Setup row (WS): Work 29 (33, 33, 37, 41) sts in Ridged Eyelet Lace pat, pm; work Garter Lace to end.

Work 62 (66, 70, 74, 74) rows even, end­ing with Row 3 of Ridged Eyelet Lace pat. Piece will mea­sure ap­prox 101/4 (103/4, 111/2, 12, 12) inches when blocked. Knit 1 row, re­mov­ing marker. Change to Ridged Eyelet Lace across all sts; work 60 rows even. Knit 2 rows. Bind off all sts kwise.

Front

Cast on 81 (89, 97, 105, 113) sts.

Knit 5 rows. Setup row (WS): Work 52 (56, 64, 68, 72) sts in Garter Lace pat, pm; work Ridged Eyelet Lace pat to end.

Com­plete as for back.

Sleeves

Cast on 36 (36, 40, 40, 44) sts. Knit 4 rows. Work 11 rows in Garter Lace. Con­tin­u­ing in Garter Lace, inc 1 st each side on next row, then [ev­ery 12 rows] 3 times, work­ing new sts into pat as they ac­cu­mu­late—44 (44, 48, 48, 52) sts.

Knit 1 row, dec 1 st at cen­ter of row— 43 (43, 47, 47, 51) sts.

Change to Ridged Eyelet Lace; work 13 (9, 9, 7, 7) rows even.

Con­tin­u­ing in Ridged Eyelet Lace, inc 1 st each side on next row, then ev­ery 14 (10, 10, 8, 8) rows 2 (4, 4, 5, 5) times, work­ing new sts in pat—49 (53, 57, 59, 63) sts.

Work 18 (10, 10, 12, 12) rows even. Piece will mea­sure 171/4 inches when blocked.

Bind off all sts pwise.

Fin­ish­ing

Block pieces to mea­sure­ments.

Mark cen­ter 111/4 (111/4, 111/4, 121/4, 121/4) inches for neck open­ing; sew shoul­der seams on ei­ther side of marked neck.

Place mark­ers on front and back 6 (61/2, 7, 71/2, 8) inches down from shoul­der seams. Sew sleeves be­tween mark­ers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
