Spe­cial Ab­bre­vi­a­tions

Make 1 Left (M1L): In­sert LH nee­dle from front to back un­der hor­i­zon­tal strand be­tween last st worked and next st on LH nee­dle; knit through back of re­sult­ing loop. Purl in front and back (pfb): Purl in front and back of st—1 st inc. Slip, slip, purl (ssp): Sl 2 sts 1 at a time kwise to RH nee­dle; re­turn sts to LH nee­dle in turned po­si­tion and p2­tog-tbl—a left-lean­ing sin­gle dec.

Pat­tern Notes

The body is worked in one piece in the round from the bot­tom to the arm­holes, at which point the front and back are worked flat sep­a­rately. After the divi­sion, the front is pleated and stitches are cast on for the short sleeves. Above the pleats, a 22-row lace pat­tern is worked and then the re­main­der of the front is worked in stock­inette stitch. The back is worked in stock­inette stitch.

First and last 5 stitches of sleeves are worked in re­verse stock­inette stitch through­out.
