Spe­cial Tech­nique

Ap­plied I-Cord: Cast on 3 sts. With RS of main fab­ric fac­ing, *k2, sl 1 kwise; with tip of RH nee­dle, pick up and knit 1 st in edge of main fab­ric, psso; re­turn 3 sts to LH nee­dle; rep from * around. Note: Pick up ap­prox 1 st for ev­ery cas­ton st and 2 sts for ev­ery 3 rows around neck open­ing.

Pat­tern Notes

Back and front are worked sep­a­rately from the top down to arm­holes, then joined and worked in the round to be­gin­ning of lower edge shap­ing. Lower edge shap­ing is worked back and forth in rows. Sleeves are picked up and worked from the top down, with short­row shap­ing (see page 79) to shape the cap. The lower sleeve edges are shaped in a sim­i­lar man­ner to the body edge.

Stitches are picked up for the rib­bing, and when the rib­bing is com­pleted, the lower edges are folded un­der and sewn in place.

An Ap­plied I-Cord is worked around the neck edge.

Work in­creases as fol­lows: K2, M1R at be­gin­ning of right-side rows and M1L, k2 at end; work p2, M1R-P at be­gin­ning of wrong-side rows and M1L-P at end.
