23 sts and 41 rows = 4 inches/10cm in garter st. To save time, take time to check gauge.

Spe­cial Ab­bre­vi­a­tions

Join & Turn (J&T): Slip last st on nee­dle pwise to RH nee­dle. Insert LH nee­dle from back to front through both legs of next edge-st loop of Panel 1. Re­turn st that was pre­vi­ously slipped to LH nee­dle, then knit this st and edge-st loop tog tbl. Turn work and bring yarn to RS (back) of work. Make 1 (M1): Insert LH nee­dle from front to back un­der hor­i­zon­tal strand be­tween last st worked and next st on LH nee­dle; knit through back of re­sult­ing loop.

Pat­tern Notes

This pat­tern uses a mod­u­lar tech­nique called strip knit­ting. The pieces are con­structed out of pan­els that are joined to­gether as each is knit.

When join­ing pan­els, pick up in edge stitch by in­sert­ing LH nee­dle un­der both legs of loop from back to front.

In­crease on sleeves as fol­lows: Work k1, M1, knit to last st, M1, k1.

Trans­fer sts from right and left col­lar ex­ten­sions to nee­dles with WS tog.

Join us­ing 3-nee­dle bind-off (see page 79). Sew shoul­der seams. Sew col­lar ex­ten­sion to back neck, cen­ter­ing seam.

Pm 8 (81/2, 81/2, 9, 91/2, 91/2) inches from shoul­der seams on front and back. Sew top of sleeve be­tween mark­ers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
