Ver­mont FCU, Burling­ton, Vt., par­tic­i­pated in Mid­dle­bury Union Mid­dle Schools’ “Shark Tank Start Up” sum­mer camp for the sec­ond straight year. In ad­di­tion to do­nat­ing $750, the CU sent two staff mem­bers to men­tor stu­dents.

Michi­gan State Univer­sity FCU, East Lans­ing, Mich., game mem­bers a chance to win $500 for us­ing their MSUFCU Visa debit or credit cards on Ama­zon Prime Day. The pro­mo­tion en­cour­aged card-hold­ing mem­bers to learn about and re­spon­si­bly use their debit and credit cards. Com­pared to 2016, Mem­bers’ pur­chases on Ama­zon with MSUFCU cards in­creased 59 per­cent for debit and 47 per­cent for credit cards.

Topline FCU, Maple Grove, Minn., hosted a sum­mer youth in­tern through Brook­lynk, a youth em­ploy­ment pro­gram re­spond­ing to com­mu­nity needs.

First Fi­nan­cial FCU, Lutherville, Md., ded­i­cated two months to host­ing “Stuff the Bus” events for its two lo­cal school dis­tricts to sup­ple­ment teach­ers and stu­dents with needed school sup­plies.

Tex­ell CU, Tem­ple, Texas, gave $750 to The Car­ing Place af­ter a pro­mo­tion in which mem­bers were able to re­duce their rate by 0.25 per­cent or more when re­fi­nanc­ing an auto loan and also choose one of four char­i­ties to whom Tex­ell would make a do­na­tion. Many mem­bers se­lected The Car­ing Place as their pre­ferred char­ity.
