Make 2. With pink, ch 4, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, (hdc, sl st) in next ch, leav­ing 8-inch length, fas­ten off.

FIN­ISH­ING With length of pink and ta­pes­try nee­dle, sew nose so it points up­ward slightly. Sew Ears to top of Head over rnd 11, leav­ing 1-inch sp be­tween Ears. Us­ing photo as a guide for place­ment, for eyes, thread black on ta­pes­try nee­dle and tie a dou­ble knot at end of yarn length. Leav­ing 4 sc be­tween eyes, in­sert nee­dle in rnd 8 at po­si­tion of first eye and have nee­dle exit at rnd 8 for po­si­tion of 2nd eye;

pull yarn length taut so that dou­ble knot is at sur­face of face and in­dents face in­ward slightly. With yarn taut, tie another dou­ble knot for 2nd eye. Use nee­dle to hide yarn ends from work­ing Eyes inside of Head. For nose, thread ta­pes­try nee­dle with length of café latte, em­broi­der straight stitches (see il­lus

tra­tion) 8 times over rnd 1. For mouth, thread nee­dle with red, em­broi­der mouth with straight stitches over rnd 5 of Head. With hair­brush, gen­tly brush Body of Hedge­hog to cre­ate light fuzz. In­sert straight pins into Body of Hedge­hog to use for Pin­cush­ion.

This adorable lit­tle fel­low makes a fun, whim­si­cal ad­di­tion to any needle­crafter’s tools. Pins with a va­ri­ety of col­ored heads cre­ate his “spikes.” With­out the pins, he can be a sweet toy for Baby!
