PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of round counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Join dou­ble cro­chet rounds in be­gin­ning stitch; do not join sin­gle cro­chet rounds in be­gin­ning stitch. Move mark­ers up as each round pro­gresses. When chang­ing color in sec­tions shown on Charts, work last stitch of cur­rent color to last yarn over (2 loops on hook), drop cur­rent color, pick up next color, car­ry­ing cur­rent color on wrong side, yarn over and pull next color through last 2 loops. Carry and work over color not in use on back side of piece as next color is worked. Do not cut yarn un­til in­structed.

TALL POUCH Sides With Mex­i­can rose, ch 80, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in first ch to form a ring. Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 3 (see Pat­tern Notes), dc in each ch around, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in top of beg ch-3. (80 dc) Rnds 2 & 3: Ch 3, [ fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next st, dc in next st] around, fpdc around last st, join in top of beg ch-3, at end of rnd 3, change color (see

Stitch Guide) to mint in join. Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, place first marker in st just made, sc in each of next 3 dc, sc in next dc, place 2nd marker in last st made, sc in each of next 35 dc, sc in next dc, place 3rd marker in last st made, sc in each of next 3 dc, sc in next dc, place 4th marker in last st made, sc in each of next 35 dc. Rnds 13 & 14: Work­ing in back lps, sc in each of next 9 sc across first short side, sc in each of next 35 sts, re­fer­ring to Tall Pouch Chart and chang­ing col­ors (see Pat­tern Notes) as in­di­cated, sc in each of next 9 sc across other short side, sc in each of next 35 sts, re­fer­ring to Tall Pouch Chart and chang­ing col­ors as in­di­cated.

Rnd 15: Rep rnd 7, re­fer­ring to Tall Pouch Chart for long sides and chang­ing col­ors as in­di­cated. Rnds 16–18: Rep rnd 13. At end of rnd 18, cut Mex­i­can rose. Rnd 19: Rep rnd 15.

Rnds 20–23: Rep rnds 16–19. At end of rnd 23, cut teal.

Rnd 24: Work­ing in back lps, sc in each sc around, change color to Mex­i­can rose. (96 sc)

Rnds 25 & 26: Work­ing in back lps, sc in each sc around, at end of last rnd, change color to mint in last st.

Rnd 27: Work­ing in back lps, sc in each sc around. Fas­ten off.

Bot­tom

With mint, ch 16.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (15 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Rep row 2 un­til piece has the same mea­sure as long side on Sides.

ASSEM­BLY

Hold Sides in rec­tan­gu­lar shape. Match­ing cor­ners, po­si­tion Bot­tom at lower edge of Sides. Work­ing through both thick­nesses, join mint in any cor­ner, ch 1, sc evenly sp around, join in beg sc. Fas­ten off.

In­sert Zip­per

Pin top edges of Pouch to each side of zip­per tape, with zip­per tab close to 1 short end and crimped end of zip­per tucked and pinned to other short end. Al­low edges to lie where de­sired, meet­ing over coils or teeth of zip­per or on each side of coils or teeth.

Open zip­per and with sewing nee­dle and match­ing thread, work small back­stitches (see

il­lus­tra­tion) 1/4 inch from cen­ter of zip­per. Tack crimped end of zip­per to Pouch. Se­cure thread tightly.

Zip­per Pull

Cut 2 20-inch strands in de­sired col­ors. Pull strands through hole on zip­per tab and fold in half. Hold­ing all strands tog, twist tightly un­til they re­sist, then tie a knot 3 inches from tab. Pull ends through wooden bead and tie a knot on the other side of bead. Trim ends evenly.

Fringe

For each Fringe, cut 2 4-inch strands of salmon, hold tog and fold in half. In­sert hook from RS in any st of rnd 5, pull folded end through, pull ends through fold, pull ends to tighten knot

Work Fringe in ev­ery other st around. Trim ends evenly.

WIDE POUCH

Sides With denim, ch 88, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in first ch to form a ring. Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in each ch around, join in top of beg ch-3. (88 dc) Rnds 2 & 3: Ch 3, [ fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next st, dc in next st] around, fpdc around last st, join in top of beg ch-3, at end of rnd 3, change color (see

Stitch Guide) to co­ral in join. Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, place first marker in st just made, sc in each of next 3 dc, sc in next dc, place 2nd marker in last st made, sc in each of next 39 dc, sc in next dc, place 3rd marker in last st made, sc in each of next 3 dc, sc in next dc, place 4th marker in last st made, sc in each of next 39 dc. Do not join (see Pat­tern Notes). Rnds 5 & 6 (inc): Work­ing in back lps (see Stitch Guide), 2 sc in st with first marker, mov­ing marker (see Pat­tern

In­sert Zip­per

In­sert zip­per in same man­ner as Tall Pouch.

Zip­per Pull

Dec­o­rate zip­per by pulling 3 strands in de­sired col­ors through tab hole and braid­ing the strands tog. Tie a knot 3 inches from the clasp. Pull tails through a bead and tie a knot on the other side of the bead. Trim ends evenly.
