4 dc = 1 inch

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-2 at beginning of round does not count as first double crochet.

Make 2. Rnd 1 (RS): With wood violet form slip ring (see illustration), ch 1, work 16 hdc in ring, join

(see Pattern Notes) in first hdc, draw slip ring closed tightly. (16 hdc)

Rnd 2: [Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in each of next 4 chs, sk next hdc of rnd 1, sl st in next hdc] 8 times, leaving a 12-inch length, fasten off. (8 petals)

Rnd 1: With silver form slip ring, ch 2 (see Pattern Notes), work 14 dc in ring, join in first dc, draw slip ring closed tightly. (14 dc) Rnd 2: Ch 2, (dc in next dc, ch 1) around, join in first dc. (14 dc, 14 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 3: Sl st in first ch-1 sp, (ch 3, sl st in next ch-1 sp) around, join with last sl st in first sl st. Fasten off.

Stack Water Lilies with petals staggered, allowing edges to curl and sew tog. Sew bead at center of flower. Sew assembled Water Lily to center of Medallion. Weave in ends, block. Cut chain in half (9-inch

lengths), attach 1 end of each length to 1 end of toggle clasp using a jump ring. Using rem 2 jump rings, attach other end of each length to ch lp of rnd 3 of the Medallion with 5 lps between.

Just a few yards of size 10 crochet cotton yield a pretty floral necklace. One special bead sewn to a simple 4-round medallion at the center of the layered flower motif completes the design.
