PAT­TERN NOTES Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. To avoid tan­gling long ends, work flower fringe as you go, 1 color change be­hind work­ing row. Join with slip stitch un­less oth­er­wise stated. Chain-2 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch un­less oth­er­wise stated. Cro­chet this afghan for your fa­vorite chair or porch swing! Worked in worsted-weight yarn, this lacy afghan is first cro­cheted in rows, leav­ing long tails when col­ors are added. The long tails are then used to cro­chet the fun flower fringe!

Row 8: With RS fac­ing, leav­ing a tail of 11/4 yds long, join white in first sc, ch 2, dc in first sc, (sk next sc, shell in next sc, sk next sc, dc in next sc) across; fas­ten off, leav­ing a tail of 11/4 yds long. (45 shells, 46 dc) Row 9: Rep row 4. Rows 10–12: Rep rows 5–7, us­ing teal in­stead of turquoise. Row 13: Rep row 8. Rows 14–122: [Rep rows 4–13] 10 times, then rep rows 4–12 once. Flower Fringe With RS fac­ing, take up long tail, join on hook as close as pos­si­ble to afghan (there will be ap­prox­i­mately a 1/2- inch gap of yarn). Ch 3, in 3rd ch from hook work (dc, ch 2, sl st), [ch 2, dc, ch 2, sl st] 3 more times in same ch; ch 2, with flower faceup, sl st in afghan at base of long tail. Fas­ten off. Rep for each long tail on each short end of afghan. FIN­ISH­ING Dampen and block, stretch­ing length­wise to straighten, al­low­ing flow­ers to over­lap slightly. CW
