FIRST ROW

Crochet World - - First Row -

With this issue we find ourselves halfway through the year and our 40th anniversary celebration. I hope you have been enjoying looking over some of the great patterns from the past 40 years as much as we have!

In this issue, not only do we bring you outstanding designs from some of the best crochet designers, but we have also included two patterns from past issues that are still “crochet worthy.” The Striped Overalls pattern is just as cute as it was when it was featured in the June 1994 issue! And all we had to do to the Gingham Place Mat & Coaster set was freshen up the colors to make it just as appealing for today’s crocheter.

In this issue we asked designers to use a traditional crochet technique, such as Bruges lace, to create something new and unexpected. Our Crochet With a Twist chapter features five awesome designs that incorporate filet crochet, Tunisian crochet, Love knots and Bruges lace to create fashion accessories and home decor you will not only enjoy making, but be proud to show off!

We all love crocheting quick and practical projects, and our Happy Days Kitchen chapter is filled with designs you’ll find yourself adding to your crochet to-do list. A set of cotton towels with veggie appliqués, a toaster cover with matching pot holders, a customizable join-as-you-go motif curtain, and a place mat set all in on-trend vintage colors are sure to add a touch of whimsy to your home! Of course, feel free to use a color combination that fits your taste and decor!

Two gorgeous throws, a beautiful sunflower doily, a handy basket and a pretty wrap round out this issue, so grab your crochet hooks and dig in!

Happy Crocheting!
