About the Designer

Crochet World - - Designer Spotlight - Karen George

My mother and aunt taught me to crochet when I was young. It wasn’t until years later, when I joined a local guild, that I met people who helped me to hone my skills. For many years, I was a professional finisher of crocheted and knitted items. It kept me quite busy, and there was little time to develop designs of my own. In 2016, I became a full-time designer and was able to devote the time to this new career. Little did I know that I was not leaving the old career behind, as finishing is such a crucial part of the process and one that I truly enjoy. I love all things crochet. It is what relaxes me at the end of a busy day. My idea of a good time is going through stitch pattern books and just swatching, swatching, swatching!
