• Cas­cade Yarns 220 Su­per­wash medium ( worsted) weight su­per­wash wool yarn ( 31/2 oz/ 220 yds/ 100g per skein): 1 skein each # 1946 sil­ver grey, # 803 royal

pur­ple and # 851 lime • Size K/ 101/2/ 6.5mm Tu­nisian cro­chet hook or

size needed to ob­tain gauge • Ta­pes­try nee­dle


12 TKS = 4 inches; 16 TKS rows = 4 inches Take time to check gauge


Work Color Chart from right to left on each row. Carry col­ors not in use be­hind work loosely. Join with slip stitch un­less oth­er­wise stated.


Work loops off hook (work lps off hook): Yo, pull through 1 lp on hook, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across. Last lp on hook is first st of next row. Tu­nisian Knit stitch ( TKS): In­sert hook from front to back be­tween front and back ver­ti­cal bars (see il­lus­tra­tion), yo, pull lp through. Color change: Pull up lp of new color through lp of old color on hook (see il­lus­tra­tions).


Row 1: With sil­ver grey, ch 75 [85, 95],

A. hold­ing each lp on hook, pull up lp in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (75 [85, 95] lps on hook),

B. work lps off hook (see Spe­cial Stitches). Row 2:

A. TKS (see Spe­cial Stitches) across,

B. work lps off hook.

Rows 3–7:

A. TKS across,

B. work lps off hook.

Rows 8–13:

A. Work TKS across ac­cord­ing to Color Chart (see Pat­tern Notes),

B. work lps off hook, chang­ing col­ors (see Spe­cial Stitches) ac­cord­ing to Color Chart.

Rows 14–19:

A. Work TKS across ac­cord­ing to Color Chart,

Rows 20–26: With lime,

A. TKS across,

Row 27: With lime, work as for TKS, bind off in sl st across. Fas­ten off.

This fun and funky Tu­nisian cowl can be stitched in a day and worn as the sea­sons change.

Fin­ish­ing With RS tog, us­ing in­vis­i­ble seam (see il­lus­tra­tion), sew ends tog to form Cowl.


Rnd 1: Join (see il­lus­tra­tion), pur­ple in seam on 1 edge, evenly sp sc around, join in first sc.

Rnd 2: Work­ing from left to right, re­verse sc (see Stitch Guide) in each st around, join in first re­verse sc. Fas­ten off. Rep Trim on rem edge. Wash and lay flat to block.
