( 9 shells) Row 2: Ch 1 ( see Pat­tern Notes), shell in each ch- 1 sp across, sc in beg ch- 1, turn. Rows 3–10: Rep row 2. At the end of row 10, do not fas­ten off.


Rnd 1 ( RS): Now work­ing in rnds, work­ing across long edge of Bot­tom, ch 1 ( does not count as first sc), [ 3 sc in cor­ner st, work 24 sc evenly sp across long edge, 3 sc in cor­ner st, 6 sc evenly sp across ends of rows] twice, join ( see Pat­tern Notes) in beg sc. Thread yarn nee­dle with long dou­ble strand of yarn. Cen­ter first han­dle over 7 sc on side edge of Hand­bag, work­ing through sc sts and over straight edge of han­dle, sew han­dle to Hand­bag, se­cure. Fas­ten off. Rep for 2nd han­dle, on op­po­site side of Hand­bag.
