A Note From the Editor

Crochet! - - Crochet In The News -

The fresh air and deep colors of the ocean have been an inspiration for artists and sailors alike since the beginning of time. I have loved bringing you this collection of nautical- inspired projects that include the Boating Tee, the Anchors Aweigh Tote, the Sail Sarong, Sheer Southern Style Sun Hat, the Pop- Up Poppies blanket and the adorable Oscar the Octopus toy. These patterns are perfect to make ahead and enjoy during warmer months or to bring on your summer adventures and stitch away! Oscar the Octopus was designed by Kati Brown and this is her first appearance in Crochet!

There is another theme that runs through this issue. A little bit of Americana in the Glory Throw by Cindy Adams, the Go Everywhere Tote by Brenda Bourg and the Short Beach Picnic Blanket by Susie Allen.

Need some inspiration to learn some new tricks this summer? The amazing Rose Garden Shawl puts your new broomstick lace skills to work as described in the Learn It! Do It! article and project combo by Brenda Bourg.

Whether you plan to kick back and enjoy a gorgeous sunset over the ocean, the plains or the mountains, it's time to breathe fresh air into your crochet portfolio. I hope these patterns inspire your next creation! C!
