PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Do not join rounds or turn un­less oth­er­wise stated. Place stitch marker at be­gin­ning of rounds and move up as each round is com­pleted. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated.

SPE­CIAL STITCHES

Sin­gle cro­chet 2 to­gether (sc2­tog): [Insert hook in next st, yo and pull up a lp] twice, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook. Sin­gle cro­chet join (sc join): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in in­di­cated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

Row 1: With coral, ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch. Leav­ing a long tail for sewing, fas­ten off.

AS­SEM­BLY Legs

Get­ting started: Hold Top­side and Un­der­side of each Leg with WS tog and match sk sts of Body and Belly. Op­tional: To keep match­ing sts aligned, pin or place lock­ing st mark­ers around. Note: As each Leg is worked, stuff with fiber­fill.

Rnd 1: Work­ing in ends of rows and through both thick­nesses of Legs, sc join coral in first row at top of Leg near Body and Belly, [sc in each row of Leg to last row, 4 sc in st of last row, sc in end of each row to first sk st of Body and Belly, work­ing in both thick­nesses, sc in each sk st] around, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in first sc. Leav­ing a long tail for sewing, fas­ten off.

Eye­brows

Work­ing through foun­da­tion chs, sew Eye­brows in an arch above each safety eye.

Man­tle

Hold­ing Man­tle with de­crease sts on bot­tom, sew to back of body op­po­site eyes, be­tween rows 4 and 8. Do not sew tightly as this piece should flop up and down. C!
