PAT­TERN NOTES

Chain tightly through­out. Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of row counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Chain- 4 at be­gin­ning of row counts as first dou­ble cro­chet and chain-1 un­less oth­er­wise stated. Wet- block to open and smooth beaded loops.

SPE­CIAL STITCHES

First foun­da­tion sin­gle cro­chet (first foun­da­tion sc): Ch 2, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 1 lp on hook (see il­lus­tra­tion A— ch-1 com­pleted), yo, pull through both lps on hook (see il­lus­tra­tions B and C—sc com­pleted).

Add bead: Pick up 1 bead with size 8 hook, insert size 8 steel hook in lp and pull lp through bead, re­move steel hook and insert size G hook in lp, tighten lp on hook. Wet- block to fin­ished mea­sure­ments, pin­ning out teardrops and pi­cots.

For this slinky, C-shaped scarf, I started with a tra­di­tional lacet mesh stitch pat­tern and fin­ished it off with a dec­o­ra­tive beaded edg­ing. The drape and sheen of this beau­ti­ful yarn, to­gether with the dressy beads, does all the work in this sim­ple...
