PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in ends as work pro­gresses. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less other­wise stated. Chain- 4 at be­gin­ning of round counts as first dou­ble cro­chet and chain-1 un­less other­wise stated. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of round in Waist­band counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less other­wise stated. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of round in Shell Pat­tern counts as first sin­gle cro­chet and chain-2 un­less other­wise stated.

SKIRT Waist­band

With size G hook and choco­late milk, first foun­da­tion sc (see Spe­cial Stitches), work 69 [73, 77, 81] next foun­da­tion sc (see Spe­cial Stitches), join (see Pat­tern Notes) in first st be­ing care­ful not to twist. (70 [74, 78, 82] sts)

Rnd 1: Ch 4 (see Pat­tern Notes), *sk 1, dc in next st, ch 1, rep from * to last st, join in 3rd ch of beg ch- 4.

Rnds 2–7: Ch 3 (see Pat­tern Notes), dc in each st around, join in top of beg ch-3.

Sizes 6 & 8 Only Rnds [8& 9]: Rep rnd 2.

All Sizes Next rnd: Ch 3, dc in st at base of ch-3, dc in each st around, join in top of beg ch-3. (71 [75, 79, 83] sts)

Next rnd: Rep last rnd, chang­ing color (see Stitch Guide) to lake in last dc, join top of beg ch-3. (72 [76, 80, 84] sts)

Shell Pat­tern

Rnd 1: With size H hook, ch 1, sc in same st as join, *sk next st, shell (see Spe­cial Stitches) in next st, sk next st, sc in next st*, rep from * to last 3 sts, sk next st, shell in next st, join in first sc. Tie

With lake and size H hook, work foun­da­tion sc un­til Tie is 38 inches long or de­sired length.

FIN­ISH­ING

Us­ing end of yarn, close the gap be­tween first and last foun­da­tion sts and weave in end. Weave in other ends. Work Tie through sps of rnd 1 of Waist­band.

My daugh­ter Alivia and my 6 nieces were the in­spi­ra­tion for this skirt. They are all beau­ti­ful girls and love to be out­side. I thought they all should be wrapped in the won­der­ful flow­ers that they love to play in. — Anna Hersey
