• Omega Pri­mav­era su­per fine ( fin­ger­ing) weight cot­ton yarn ( 31/2 oz/ 131 yds/ 100g per skein):

1 skein # 486 la­guna • Size F/ 5/ 3.75mm cro­chet hook • 7- inch- long piece of card­board


4 dc and ch-1 = 1 inch


Sin­gle cro­chet join (sc join): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in in­di­cated st, yo, pull up lp, yo, draw through both lps on hook.


Row 1: Ch 220, dc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, sk next ch and dc in next ch, rep from * across, turn. (110 dc; 109 ch-1 sps)

Row 2: Ch 1, place 1 sc in first dc, place 1 dc in the same dc as sc, *sk the next ch-1 sp, place 1 sc in the next dc, place 1 dc in the same dc as the sc just placed, con­tinue from * across to end of row, turn. (110 sc; 110 dc)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in the first dc, *dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc, rep from * across the row, dc in last st, turn. (109 sc, 110 dc)

Row 4: Ch 1, hdc in the first dc and the next 59 sts (last hdc placed should be in an sc); sl st in the next 10 sts, hdc in the next st, and in all rem sts of the row, (place a st marker in the first and last sl st) turn. (209 hdc; 10 sl sts)

Row 5: Ch 1, dc in first st, *( ch 1, dc) in next st un­til you reach the first st marker. Ch 10, sk sl sts, (dc, ch 1) in each st, across the rem row to the last 2 sts, dc in each st.

Row 6: Ch 1, hdc in each dc and ch-1 sp across to the end of row, in­clud­ing each ch of the ch-10 sp.

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in first hdc, dc in next hdc, *sc in next hdc, dc in next hdc, rep from * to end of row, turn. (110 sc; 109 dc)

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in first dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc; rep from * to the end of the row, turn. (110 dc; 109 sc) Row 9: Ch 1, dc in first dc, *ch 1, sk next sc, dc in next dc, rep from * across the row. Fas­ten off. (110 dc; 109 sc)


Edg­ing Sc join (see Spe­cial Stitch) in first st on 1 long end of Scarf and sc in each st across. Rep on rem long edge of Scarf.

Fringe Make 18 (9 for each short end of Scarf). Wrap yarn around card­board length­wise 4 to 5 times. Cut 1 end while still wrapped. Re­move from card­board. Fold yarn in half form­ing a lp at 1 end. Insert hook into cor­ner st of short end of Scarf. Take your hook and draw the lp through the st where you’re at­tach­ing the fringe. Draw the loose ends of the yarn through the lp. Hold­ing the top of the fringe in 1 hand, pull gen­tly on the fringe ends with your other hand. Trim as needed.
