PAT­TERN NOTES

Leave long be­gin­ning and end­ing tails as in­di­cated through­out. Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. To de­ter­mine watchband length, re­fer to mea­sure­ment guide­lines in Dis­cover Turk­ish Cro­chet ar­ti­cle on page 8. Mea­sure­ment on ei­ther side of watch is ap­prox­i­mate band length ex­clud­ing clasp. When us­ing 2 strands, tie strands to­gether with a large over­hand knot at bot­tom end of strands to pre­vent beads from slid­ing off while stitch­ing. Hold both strands to­gether as work pro­ceeds un­less oth­er­wise stated.

SPE­CIAL TECH­NIQUES

Pre- string beads: Re­fer to Dis­cover Turk­ish Cro­chet ar­ti­cle on page 8 and use de­sired method to string beads on thread. Slide bead (Sb): Slide next pre­strung bead across thread close to hook.

BRACELETS TRIPLEWRAP BRACELET

Row 1: Pre­string (see Spe­cial Tech­niques) all 3mm beads on 1 size 10 strand cop­per mist, string 1 6mm bead for bracelet clo­sure, leav­ing an 8- inch tail (see Pat­tern Notes), place slip knot on size 10 steel hook, slide 6mm bead across thread close to hook, yo and pull through lp on hook to com­plete as ch-1, turn, place hook un­der thread at top of bead, yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through both lps on hook to com­plete as sc. (1 sc)

Row 2: Sb (see Spe­cial Tech­niques), ch 1, turn, in­sert hook un­der thread at top of bead, yo,

Last row: Ch 5, in­sert hook un­der thread at top of last bead, yo and com­plete as sl st to form lp. Fas­ten off, leav­ing an 8- inch tail (see Pat­tern Notes).

Fin­ish­ing

Use nee­dle to weave thread tail through sev­eral sts at each end of bracelet to se­cure. Trim away ex­cess.

SLIP STITCH BRACELET

Row 1: Cut 2 5- yd lengths of size 10 cop­per mist, tie strands tog (see Pat­tern Notes), pre- string (see Spe­cial Tech­niques) all 6mm beads on both strands at op­po­site end, string 1 8mm bead for bracelet clo­sure, leav­ing 8- inch tails (see Pat­tern Notes), place slip knot on size 7 steel hook, slide 8mm bead across threads close to hook, ch 1, turn, place hook un­der threads at top of bead, yo, pull through lp on hook to com­plete as sl st. (1 sl st)

Row 2: Sb (see Spe­cial Tech­niques), ch 1, turn, in­sert hook un­der threads at top of bead, yo and pull through lp on hook to com­plete as sl st.

Next rows: Rep row 2 un­til piece mea­sures ap­prox­i­mately 71/2 inches or to de­sired length.

Last row: Ch 6, in­sert hook un­der threads at top of last bead, yo and com­plete as sl st to form lp. Fas­ten off, leav­ing 8- inch tails (see Pat­tern Notes).

Fin­ish­ing

Di­vide thread tail on each end of bracelet into 2 sin­gle strands and use nee­dle to weave each strand sep­a­rately through sev­eral sts to se­cure. Trim away ex­cess.

HALF DOU­BLE CRO­CHET BRACELET

Row 1: Pre-string (see Spe­cial Tech­niques) all 4mm beads on 1 size 10 strand cop­per mist, string 1 8mm bead for bracelet clo­sure, leav­ing an 8-inch tail (see Pat­tern Notes), place slip knot on size 7 steel hook, slide 8mm bead close to hook, ch 1, turn, yo, place hook un­der thread at top of bead, yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through 3 lps on hook to com­plete as hdc. Row 1: Cut 2 9-yd lengths of size 3 cop­per mist, tie strands tog (see Pat­tern Notes), on op­po­site end pre- string (see Spe­cial Tech­niques) ap­prox­i­mately 11–14 8mm beads on both strands, string on 1 tog­gle clasp, leav­ing 10- inch tails (see Pat­tern Notes), place slip knot on size B hook, ch 1, move clasp across threads to hook, ch 1, turn, in­sert hook in beg ch-1, yo and pull up a lp, yo and com­plete as sc.

Row 2: Rep row 2 of Triple-Wrap Bracelet.

Next rows: Rep last row un­til piece mea­sures ap­prox­i­mately 21/2 inches, ex­clud­ing tog­gle, or de­sired length.

Next row: Ch 1, 2 sc un­der threads at top of first bead, 2 sc in cen­ter sp be­tween beads, 2 sc un­der threads of last bead, turn. (6 sc)

Sep­a­rate thread tails on tog­gle and clasp end of each band. With nee­dle, weave each strand back through clasp pieces and through sev­eral sts to se­cure. Sep­a­rate thread tails on op­po­site end of each band. In­sert last rows of 1 band through bar on end of watch face, fold over and sew last row of band to WS of band. Rep to sew rem band to other bar. C!
