Work­ing evenly along the in­side edge of the panel, [3 dc in the side of next dc or tr] 36 times, sk next shell, [3 dc in next sm shell] 7 times, sk next shell, [3 dc in the side of the next dc or tr] 37 times. Fas­ten off cream.

Fringe

Cut 138 [170, 202] 12- inch lengths of yarn in cream. Pull 2 strands tog in each ch-3 and

ch-1 sp of the V- sts along the bot­tom (see il­lus­tra­tion), and in the sides of each of the 2 dc sts at ei­ther end of the in­side bor­der.

Ties

Cut 3 lengths of yarn to 45 inches in cream. Fold bun­dle of strands in half and pull through the sp be­tween 2 sets of 3 dc on the bor­der at rows 16 and 17 [17 and 18, 17 and 18] of the front panel. Draw the free ends of the bun­dle through the lp as for a tassel, then sep­a­rate strands into groups of 2 and braid the rest of the length of the strands. Tie off; rep for other side. Wet- block as needed to meet cor­rect di­men­sions.
