• DROPS Paris medium ( worsted) weight cot­ton yarn ( 13/4 oz/ 82 yds/ 50g per skein):

• For Pil­low 1: 4 skeins # 48 petrol ( also used for back) 1 skein each # 07 heather, # 01 apri­cot, # 31 medium pur­ple and # 39 dark lime

• For Pil­low 2: 4 skeins # 39 dark lime ( also used for back) 1 skein each # 07 heather, # 01 apri­cot, # 31 medium pur­ple and # 48 petrol

• Size G/ 6/ 4mm cro­chet hook or size needed to ob­tain gauge

• Pil­low stuff­ing

• Tapestry nee­dle

12 tapestry dc = 4 inches; 7 tapestry dc rows = 4 inches

PAT­TERN NOTES

Pillows con­sist of 2 Squares worked in the round sep­a­rately and then stitched to­gether with re­verse sin­gle cro­chet stitch. Front square is worked in 5 con­trast­ing col­ors us­ing tapestry dou­ble cro­chet tech­nique. Back square is worked in reg­u­lar dou­ble cro­chet, us­ing a sin­gle color. Chain-3 at be­gin­ning of round counts as dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Rounds are joined with slip stitch in first stitch at be­gin­ning of round. In­struc­tions are given for Pil­low 1, changes for Pil­low 2 are in [ ].

SPE­CIAL STITCH

Tapestry dou­ble cro­chet (tapestry dc): Dc with 1 color, car­ry­ing and work­ing over a thread of con­trast­ing color. Change color when you have 2 lps on the hook.

PIL­LOW FRONT PANEL

With heather [apri­cot], ch 4 and form a ring join­ing rnd (see Pat­tern Notes) in first ch. Rnds will beg from cen­tral st of first edge of square.

Work all rnds in tapestry dc (see Spe­cial Stitch), us­ing 2 threads of con­trast­ing col­ors in each rnd and fol­low­ing Di­a­gram 1 [Di­a­gram 2] on next page for color changes.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (see Pat­tern Notes), dc in ring, [ch 2, 3 dc in ring] 3 times, ch 2, dc in ring. Join rnd in 3rd ch at beg of rnd. (12 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnds 2–13: Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each ch-2 sp, join in 3rd ch at beg of rnd. (204 dc, 4 ch-2 sps at end of 13th rnd) Fas­ten off.

BACK PANEL

With petrol [dark lime], ch 4 and form a ring join­ing in first ch.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in ring, [ch 2, 3 dc in ring] 3 times, ch 2, dc in ring. Join in 3rd ch at beg of rnd, turn. (12 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnds 2–13: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each ch-2 sp. Join rnd in 3rd ch at beg of rnd, turn. (204 dc, 4 ch-2 sps at end of 13th rnd) Fas­ten off.

ASSEM­BLY

Weave in ends. Block both Pan­els of each Pil­low. Match WS of Front and Back Pan­els. With petrol [dark lime] work 1 row of re­verse sc (see Stitch Guide) around 3 edges of pillows match­ing sts of last rnd. In­sert stuff­ing and close 4th edge with re­verse sc. Fas­ten off.
