Pan­gaea Ex­plo­rations, known for ma­rine con­ser­va­tion work and sci­en­tific re­search in the far reaches of the world’s oceans, has opened its sail­ing ex­pe­di­tions to guest crew.

Ex­pe­ri­enced lead­ers, some with a back­ground in ma­rine science and re­search, in­vite qual­i­fied sailors aboard Sea Dragon, a 72-foot ex­pe­di­tion race boat. Routes in the Caribbean and the North At­lantic Ocean, as well as other lo­ca­tions, of­fer an au­then­tic sail­ing ex­pe­ri­ence for all lev­els in seven to 21 days.

Crewmem­bers are ex­pected to join in all as­pects of sail­ing and life aboard. Prior ex­pe­ri­ence

Col­gate Off­shore Sail­ing Ad­ven­tures, a divi­sion of Off­shore Sail­ing School, is tak­ing the flotilla concept that Steve and Doris Col­gate started in 1972 to the next level, with trips to sought-af­ter des­ti­na­tions. Ca­reer sailors Nate and Heather At­wa­ter are the team in charge of the pro­gram.

The 2017 sched­ule in­cluded St. Lu­cia in the Caribbean and the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Lo­ca­tions for 2018 ad­ven­ture va­ca­tions are be­ing added.
