ADVENTURE AND EXPLORATION CALL

-

Pangaea Explorations, known for marine conservation work and scientific research in the far reaches of the world’s oceans, has opened its sailing expeditions to guest crew.

Experienced leaders, some with a background in marine science and research, invite qualified sailors aboard Sea Dragon, a 72-foot expedition race boat. Routes in the Caribbean and the North Atlantic Ocean, as well as other locations, offer an authentic sailing experience for all levels in seven to 21 days.

Crewmembers are expected to join in all aspects of sailing and life aboard. Prior experience

is helpful but not required. Sea Dragon is also available for crewed expedition and passage charters. For details, contact the organization (panexplore.com).

Colgate Offshore Sailing Adventures, a division of Offshore Sailing School, is taking the flotilla concept that Steve and Doris Colgate started in 1972 to the next level, with trips to sought-after destinations. Career sailors Nate and Heather Atwater are the team in charge of the program.

The 2017 schedule included St. Lucia in the Caribbean and the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Locations for 2018 adventure vacations are being added. The cruises are open to all sailors, including Offshore Sailing School graduates. For details, contact the company (offshoresailing.com/ adventure-vacations).
