MAKE YOUR ESCAPE
Whether you’re still wondering if the cruising life is right for you or you’re already in the planning stage, you’ll find something to help you on your way at the Cruising World Workshops on Friday, October 6, during the 2017 U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland. There are two sessions available. The morning session begins with breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by seminars on buying a boat, first aid for cruisers and mastering marine electronics. At 1 p.m., the afternoon session kicks off with offshore cruiser and author Behan Gifford speaking about how to make a plan to cast off the dock lines, followed by voyager Lin Pardey explaining offshore sailing and storm tactics. A discussion on cruising Cuba and the Caribbean beyond will wrap up the session. The workshops will take place at the Naval Academy Club on the campus of the U.S. Naval Academy, adjacent to the boat show. Each session is $30 per person or $40 per couple; if you choose to stay all day, the cost is $50 per person or $70 per couple.
