“It was a prefect day to head out on July Fourth this year aboard my friend and racing crew’s boat, Beneteau Oceanis. We were heading out early, from the Rochester Yacht Club in New York, to enjoy a sail and to get into position to observe the fireworks for that evening. The breeze and waves on Lake Ontario decided to find some peace, and soon the calm set in. After furling our sails, we hoisted our colors and burgees to celebrate before the setting sun.” “This picture was taken during the Annapolis-to-bermuda Race aboard a Swan 44. We were becalmed for about 24 hours. Very painful for racers!” “This photo was taken in Cane Garden Bay in May 2014. My daughter was piloting our dinghy out to get some sunset shots when I asked her to circle around our boat so I could get a picture, and this was the result. Hopefully, many will find their way to the British Virgin Islands — those who have visited before as well as first-time visitors. It’s a truly beautiful place.”
