Betty Jean Brueckner, 83, of West Hurley

Betty Jean Brueckner, 83, passed away suddenly Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at her residence.

Born May 30, 1933, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Pearl Krom Beesmer and had resided in West Hurley for many years.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her infant son, Ned Beesmer; a sister, Doris Niece; and brothers, Robert and Walter Beesmer.

Surviving are her husband, Ned E. Beesmer, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage on Sept. 22; two daughters, Dale (John) Whipple of Hurley and Robin (Alan) Miller of Rome, Ga.; a son, Dan (Patricia) Brueckner of Honeapath, S.C.; two sisters, Eva Finelli of Saugerties and Nancy Sweeney of Kingston; and six grandchildren, Scott, Christine, Jeremy, Jonathan, Andrea and Alex.

Friends will be received Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Lasher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Tinker St., Woodstock. The service will follow at 11 a.m. Entombment will be at Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the West Hurley Rescue Squad.
