Church hosts Blessing of the Animals Oct. 2
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 163 Main St., will celebrate the ministry of St. Francis of Assisi with its annual Blessing of the Animals on at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services Oct. 2.
All are invited to bring their pets for blessing by the Rev. Robin L. James.
All animals must either be leashed or in a carrier.
Assisi is often associated with care for animals as well as the poor, who formed the core of his ministry. The blessing of pets in his name has a long history in the church.
This is a joyful service of thanksgiving for the role pets play in people’s lives, the church said in a press release.
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is at the corner of Main Street and North Oakwood Terrace. Street parking is available.
