HYDE PARK >> A 22-year-old man who was struck by a Jeep while walking on U.S. Route 9 has injuries that are not life-threatening and is in stable condition, a Dutchess County sheriff’s captain said Monday.

Anthony Jennings was struck about 11 p.m. Thursday near the Culinary Institute of America, the Sheriff’s Office said previously.

On Monday, Capt. John Watterson said Jennings was in stable condition and no charges had been filed. He said the driver who struck Jennings was identified as Michael Pezzullo, 21, of Hyde Park.

Pezzullo was driving north on Route 9 in a 1997 Jeep when he struck Jennings on the east side of the road, Watterson said.

Jennings, who is not a student at the Culinary Institute, was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment following the accident, deputies said.
