KINGSTON » Kingston High’s girls ten­nis team won its sixth con­sec­u­tive match as it knocked off pre­vi­ously un­de­feated War­wick 4-3 in Or­ange County In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion ac­tion.

“This was prob­a­bly one of our bet­ter matches of the sea­son,” Kingston coach Bill Con­stant said. “They re­ally played well. Our kids just don’t quit.”

The third dou­bles team of Juli­ette Rhodes and Christina De­mos­thenes bat­tled back to win the first set and over­came an 0-2 hole in set two to beat Emily Bruzzese and Stephanie Me­noutis 7-5, 6-3 to clinch the match.

Raque­lle DeCicco and Vyda Van-Den­berg both won in straight sets in sin­gles and the first dou­bles tan­dem of Pa­tri­cia Kuster and Molly Schatzel was vic­to­ri­ous to help lead the Tigers.

Lila Shi Free­man lost her first

match of the sea­son as War­wick’s Ava Ghoba­dian ral­lied to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at sec­ond sin­gles. Both teams are 8-1 over­all. Kingston plays host to New­burgh to­day. Jackie Grund­fast (W) def.
