Mo­tor­cy­clist, 28, dies af­ter col­li­sion with car on Route 9

>> A 28-year-old mo­tor­cy­clist died af­ter he col­lided with a car that was en­ter­ing Route 9, the town po­lice depart­ment said Tues­day.

Po­lice said Brian Freer, of the city of Pough­keep­sie, was killed in the crash, which hap­pened at 5:47 p.m. Sun­day north of Spring Road, which forms the north­ern bound­ary of the Pough­keep­sie Gal­le­ria mall.

The car, a 2011 BMW 328i be­ing driven by an 18-year-old fe­male from Cy­press, Texas, was “ex­it­ing a lo­cal busi­ness” onto Route 9 when the crash oc­curred, po­lice said. They did not pro­vide the driver’s name.

Emer­gency re­spon­ders per­formed car­diopul­monary resuscitation on Freer at the scene be­fore he was taken to Vas­sar Broth­ers Med­i­cal Cen­ter, where he was pro­nounced dead at 6:29 p.m., po­lice said.
