Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - OBITUARIES -

LAKE KATRINE >> Alan D’Addezio, 60, of Parish Lane, died unexpectedly, Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was born Sept. 6, 1956 in Margaretville, son of Lewis D’Addezio and Jean Fichtner.

A life long resident of the Catskill Mountains, he was an avid outdoorsman who was skilled at hunting, fishing, and camping. He had been a member of the Bushkill Rod & Gun Club, and was a NASCAR fan. Alan had strong sense of family values, and focused his enjoyment on the extensive family. To KNOW him, is to LOVE him. A great sense of humor and a “heart of gold”. He was a “legend” and will live on in our hearts forever.

Surviving are his mothers: Jean Fichtner and Mary D’Addezio; daughters: Heather (Andrew) Martin of Olivebridge, Stephanie (Ken) Berryann of Shandaken, Nicole (Nick) Daw of Kingston; sons: DJ (Patty) Shields of Mt. Tremper, and Earron Shields of Minn.; an dsiblings: Cindy Barnes, Michelle D’Addezio, Kristi Robinson, Annette Wiley, Muffy Ryan, Lora Weber, Karen Fairbairn, Larry Hoyt, Sam, Artie, and Bruce Umhay. 15 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren also survive.

He was predeceased by his wife Lucinda in 2009.

Mother of his two daughters, Heather and Stephanie~Jackie Umhay, continued to look over and support him for the rest of his days. He said, just recently at his 60th birthday, he would’ve been gone along time ago is she wasn’t there for him. Family forever...
