THE VIL­LAGES, FLA. >> Charles E. Coutant, age 80, re­sid­ing in The Vil­lages, Fla., died Wed­nes­day, Sept. 21, 2016.

He was born Dec. 19, 1937 in Ruby, N.Y., to the late Charles A. Coutant and Agnes M. (Lortz) Coutant.

Charles was mar­ried on July 1, 1961, in Tar­ry­town, N.Y.

He grad­u­ate from Kingston High School, worked for 36 years at IBM and had 14 years at Ni­chols Fire Ap­pa­ra­tus. He served 1958 to 1960 with the U.S. Army’s 2nd In­fantry Di­vi­sion in Korea.

Re­tir­ing in The Vil­lages, Fla., he was a long­time res­i­dent of Ruby, N.Y. and a life mem­ber of the Ruby Fire Depart­ment in­clud­ing ser­vice as Trea­surer and Com­mis­sioner of the Ruby Fire Dis­trict.

Sur­vived by his wife, Joanne (Bran­cato) Coutant of The Vil­lages, Fla.; chil­dren (in or­der of date of birth, and their spouses) Lisa Coutant-Cote and son-in-law Rich Cote of Long Is­land City, N.Y., Lynda O’Reilly and son-in-law Pa­trick O’Reilly of Kingston, N.Y.; and grand­chil­dren: Jack O’Reilly and Sum­mer O’Reilly.

Ser­vices will be held on Satur­day, Oct. 1, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Tim­o­thy’s Church Lady Lake, Fla., with full Mil­i­tary Hon­ors.
