New Paltz grabs MHAL quad­ran­gu­lar sweep

New Paltz High swept a MidHud­son Ath­letic League girls cross coun­try quad­ran­gu­lar meet. The Huguenots de­feated Marl­boro 20-40 and Ron­d­out Val­ley 15-43 and also took a 1550 de­ci­sion from Sauger­ties.

New Paltz High im­proved to 8-1 with a 175-179 win over Ron­d­out Val­ley in a Mid-Hud­son Ath­letic League boys golf match at New Paltz Golf Course.

Travis Horn­beck and Bren­non O’Con­nell each shot a 43 to lead the Huguenots. Jef­frey Shaver carded a 44 and Branch Cran­field added a 45 to round the New Paltz scor­ers.

Nick Puleo’s 43 paced the (5-5) Gan­ders. Jax­son Koebel-Secky and Corey Burke each added a 44 and Casey Burke con­trib­uted a 48 in the loss. Roo­sevelt 148, Red Hook 171

At Staats­burg, Jeff Peters had four birdies and three pars en-route to a two-un­der 32 as the Pres­i­dents pre­vailed.

Max LaFalce (37), Zach Plam­beck (39) and Jake Rand (40) also scored for (9-2) Roo­sevelt.

Austin Lund­st­edt (34), James Rosetti (40), Ja­cob Mor­ri­son (48) and Ja­cob Kehr (49) paced (5-5) Red Hook. Rhinebeck 183, Mill­brook 195

At Red Hook, Steven Byrum shot a 42 to take medal­ist hon­ors as the Hawks topped the Blaz­ers.

John Flem­ing (46) Alex Pi­etras (47) and Parker Knoop (48) scored for (62) Rhinebeck.

Pat Kyle carded a 47; Tyler Schaaad and Colby Whalen each shot a 49 and Mitchell Wiemer added a 50 for Mill­brook.
