Roberts to be in­stalled as col­lege pres­i­dent

Alan P. Roberts will be in­au­gu­rated as the sixth pres­i­dent of SUNY Ul­ster at 1 p.m. Oct. 7 in the Quimby The­ater on the col­lege’s Stone Ridge cam­pus.

The in­au­gu­ra­tion cer­e­mony will be­gin with an aca­demic pro­ces­sion that in­cludes fac­ulty and staff and del­e­gates from col­leges through­out New York state.

Speak­ers will in­clude Ti­mothy J. Sweeney, chair­man of the SUNY Ul­ster Board of Trustees; Michael Hein, Ul­ster County ex­ec­u­tive; Ken­neth J. Ronk Jr., chair­man of the Ul­ster County Leg­is­la­ture; and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of school’s fac­ulty, staff and stu­dent body.

Roberts has cho­sen a theme of “Grow­ing. Go­ing. Global” for his speech.

The key­note address will be given by An­thony Ia­cono, pres­i­dent of County Col­lege of Morris.

The pro­gram is free and open to the pub­lic, with re­fresh­ments to fol­low in the Van­der­lyn Stu­dent Life Din­ing Hall.
