Do­mes­tic vi­o­lence aware­ness pro­moted

Ul­ster County will rec­og­nize Oc­to­ber as Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Aware­ness Month with a num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties.

The 4th An­nual Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence In­for­ma­tion Forum, fea­tur­ing sto­ry­telling per­for­mances by the TMI Project and pre­sen­ta­tions by agen­cies about their roles in fight­ing do­mes­tic vi­o­lence, will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 27 at the SUNY Ul­ster Col­lege Lounge.

Reg­is­tra­tion is re­quired at www.sun­yul­ster.edu/ TMI_Pro­ject.

The Ul­ster County Of­fice Build­ing and the cupola at the Crime Victim’s Unit Of­fice will be lit in pur­ple; four bill­boards will be dis­played through­out the county; Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Aware­ness ban­ners with the hot­line num­ber will be dis­played at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions; the Clothes­line Project Art Ex­hibit will be in the lobby of the Ul­ster County Of­fice Build­ing; and county em­ploy­ees will be en­cour­aged to wear pur­ple Oct. 20.
