Bike ride will ben­e­fit Hud­son Area Li­brary

HUD­SON » The Ghostly Gal­lop Ride, a 15-year-old ben­e­fit for the Hud­son Area Li­brary, will be held Oct. 1516 with 10-, 25- and 50-mile events.

All rides stick pri­mar­ily to ru­ral roads, some along the Hud­son River, oth­ers through farm coun­try. Each route can be down­loaded to a cell phone, mak­ing rides easy to track and prac­tice ses­sions a snap.

The 50-mile ride be­gins at 8:30 a.m., the 25-mile ride starts at 9 a.m., and the 10-mile ride be­gins at 9:30 a.m. All rides be­gin at Hud­son High School, 208 Harry Howard Ave.

Routes were cho­sen with an eye to keep­ing the climbs to a min­i­mum. The long­est ride of­fers the most vari­a­tion, but all par­tic­i­pants should be able to en­joy them­selves dur­ing the course.
