Yum Brands’ latest earnings may hold clues to the company’s strategy as it prepares to spin off its China business.

The parent company of KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut is expected to complete the spinoff of Yum China at the end of this month. The business had come under pressure after food scares and marketing missteps that hurt sales at KFC and Pizza Hut. Louisville, Kentucky-based Yum Brands serves up its third-quarter results today.
