War­rior Week­end will honor wounded vet­er­ans

The 11th an­nual War­rior Week­end will take place Fri­day through Mon­day, with hon­orees sched­uled to ar­rive at 4:55 p.m. Fri­day at the Rhinecliff train sta­tion.

The event hon­ors wounded vet­er­ans who travel to the Hud­son Val­ley for a week­end of ac­tiv­i­ties.

Mo­tor­cy­cle groups wish­ing to es­cort the visi­tors should as­sem­ble at 4:30 p.m. in the park-and-ride lot on Route 199, near the east end of the KingstonRhinecliff Bridge.

The visi­tors will travel by limou­sine to the Qual­ity Inn on Route 28 in in the town of Ulster, next to All-Amer­i­can Ford, via the fol­low­ing route: Route 199 west over the KingstonRhinecliff Bridge; Route 32 south to East Ch­ester Street By­pass (Route 9W), past Vet­er­ans of For­eign Wars Post 1386, to the traf­fic light at the Ulster Av­enue in­ter­sec­tion; Ulster Av­enue to Al­bany Av­enue to Col. Chan­dler Drive; Chan­dler Drive to the Thruway Exit 19 round­about; then onto Route 28 to the Qual­ity Inn.

The visi­tors will be es­corted on the last leg to the ho­tel by the An­cient Or­der of Hiber­ni­ans Pipe Band.

All color guards are wel­come to par­tic­i­pate at the Qual­ity Inn at 5:30 p.m.

Spec­ta­tors wish­ing to view the pro­ces­sion are en­cour­aged by the event’s or­ga­niz­ers — Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 150 in Kingston — to bring a flag and gather at the VFW post on East Ch­ester By­pass; on Al­bany Av­enue just be­fore Col. Chan­dler Drive; or at the Qual­ity Inn.
