Robert A. Bon­dar, 80, of Hud­son Val­ley

Robert A. Bon­dar, 80, of the Hud­son Val­ley, died Tues­day, Sept. 27, 2016, at his home.

Born in New York, he was a son of the late Wil­liam and Anna Bon­dar.

Robert was a teacher at the Robert R. Graves El­e­men­tary School in Port Ewen, N.Y. In ad­di­tion, he worked as a Re­cre­ation Di­rec­tor for the towns of Kingston and Eso­pus, as well as the IBM Re­cre­ation Cen­ter. He also served in the Na­tional Guard.

He was a mem­ber of the Kingston High base­ball team, and was in­ducted into the Kingston City Base­ball Hall of Fame. He at­tended SUNY Oneonta, where he was cap­tain of the basketball team.

Through­out his life, he was an avid skier, tennis player and all-around sports fan.

He was a de­voted fa­ther and grand­fa­ther.

Robert is sur­vived by his daugh­ter, Lynn Bon­dar and her part­ner, An­nia Reyes; his son, Brett Bon­dar; his brother, Don­ald Bon­dar; his grand­daugh­ter, Gra­ciela Reyes-Bon­dar; his niece, Stacey Bon­dar; his nephew, Dar­ren Bon­dar; his niece, Danielle Con­way-Ma­son; his nephew, Christo­pher Con­way; and many friends.

Fu­neral Ser­vice and in­ter­ment for Robert will be held pri­vately.

Simp­son-Gaus Fu­neral Home, 411 Al­bany Ave. is hon­ored to as­sist the fam­ily with the ar­range­ments.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily re­quests that memo­rial do­na­tions be made to a char­ity of one’s choice.
