Voter reg­is­tra­tion dead­line draws near

The last day to regis­ter by mail to vote in the up­com­ing Nov. 8 gen­eral elec­tion is Oct. 14, ac­cord­ing to Ulster County Elec­tion Com­mis­sion­ers Thomas F. Turco and Vic­tor Work.

Mailed reg­is­tra­tion forms must be post­marked no later than Oct. 14 and re­ceived at the Board of Elec­tions of­fice no later than Oct. 19.

Turco, the Repub­li­can elec­tion com­mis­sioner, and Work, the Demo­crat, also an­nounced that, for the up­com­ing elec­tion, their of­fices will be of­fer­ing spe­cial hours on Satur­day, Oct. 15, for in-per­son voter reg­is­tra­tion. The of­fice, at 284 Wall St. in Up­town Kingston, will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. that day.

The elec­tion of­fice’s week­day hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
